Is LedgerEz free to use?
Yes — LedgerEz is free to download and use. Core features including bank linking, transaction tracking, and insights are all included at no cost.
How does LedgerEz connect to my bank?
We use Plaid, the same secure infrastructure trusted by Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other finance apps. Your credentials are never stored on our servers.
Is my financial data safe?
Your data is protected by 256-bit AES encryption — the same level of security used by banks and governments worldwide. Think of it as a digital vault with over a billion billion billion billion possible key combinations, making it virtually impossible for anyone to break in. Your information is encrypted both while it's stored and while it's being sent, so no one — not even us — can read it. We never sell or share your data with anyone, period.
Which banks are supported?
LedgerEz supports over 12,000 financial institutions across the US and Canada — including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Amex, Capital One, and more.
Is there an Android version?
Yes! There is an Android version of LedgerEz. However, it's currently in testing and only available to a limited group of invited users. We're working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly before opening it up to everyone. Stay tuned — a full public release is coming soon.
How does the AI chat work?
The chat uses natural language processing to understand your questions about spending, balances, and trends. It queries your actual transaction data and returns precise, real-time answers.
Can I link multiple bank accounts?
Yes — you can link as many accounts as you want from different banks, credit unions, and credit card providers. LedgerEz brings everything together in one dashboard so you get a complete picture of your finances.
How does the split feature work?
Splitting expenses is simple. Just select a transaction, tap split, choose the people involved, and LedgerEz handles the rest. It keeps a running balance for each person so you always know who owes what — no awkward conversations needed.
Does LedgerEz work with Apple Watch?
Not at the moment, but Apple Watch support is something we're exploring for a future update. Right now the app is optimized for iPhone and iPad.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your transaction history and reports at any time. Your data belongs to you, and you can take it with you whenever you need.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your data is securely backed up in the cloud, so you won't lose anything. Just sign in on your new device and everything will be right where you left it. And since the app supports Face ID and passcode lock, no one else can access your account.
Do I need to manually enter transactions?
Nope. Once you link your accounts, transactions are pulled in automatically. LedgerEz also auto-categorizes them using AI, so you barely have to lift a finger.
How does receipt scanning work?
Just snap a photo of your receipt and the AI reads it instantly — pulling out the merchant, amount, date, and items. It gets matched to your transactions automatically, so you have a digital copy of every receipt without the clutter.
Is there a web version of LedgerEz?
Not currently — LedgerEz is a mobile-first app designed for iPhone and iPad. A web dashboard is something we're considering for the future based on user demand.
